Seen It All in a Small Town

Headed down to my mom and dad's tomorrow night. Baby Char needs a visit and Rib Fest is going on down the street from us. Loud music until midnight means little sleep for the babe. So, we're off.

I've lived in the city for going on thirteen years, but still, every time Mellencamp's Small Town comes on the radio, I have to sing along and feel as though the song was written for me.

I think we're taking the bikes down this weekend. I'm terrified as there are some serious hills out there. Looks like I'll be getting a work out.

So, I've spent the week thinking about the tangible versus the intangible. I think about the work that I do and how when I am gone, there will be nothing left behind from it. That's why art, in all shapes and forms, is important to me. And why I really need to get back to writing. Creating something that you can hold in your hands is important to me. I feel a void in my life since I haven't been doing it.
