Dial up, that is. I'm at my mom and dad's and since they live in the middle of nowhere, they STILL have dial up. Painful. Completely fucking painful.
BUT, we had a really great day. Baby C spent all day with grandma and grandpa while B and I kind of ran around. Had lunch, got yelled at by some old biddy, wandered through Wal-mart and Farm King.
We were planning on going back to Chicago tonight, however, we're worried about traffic and so are going to do it in the AM.
We drove around a lot today. I made a point of taking the long way around in several instances in order to drive by old houses that I used to love or to see the a certain old family cemetery. I took B by the hospital that I was born in. My grandmother died there too. It's actually, no longer a hospital. It's now a condo building. The whole scene was kind of depressing. Everything seemed smaller and more run down that I remember it being as a child. Everything seemed closer together too.
We ended up at an Applebees for lunch. And I swear to god, every person in there was at least one hundred pounds overweight. I never regret leaving this place. It's always strange to come back.

Day 4 and you're still going strong! good for you! Glad your trip is going well! Robert wants to go in our old neighborhood and check thing out. I should take him soon before he forgets all his first places! Have a great day!
Hugs
Jackie

I felt EXACTLY the same way when I went to a wedding in PA a few years ago. And we lived outside of Harrisburg, which is not a major city, but also not farmland. I couldn't find a restaurant I liked and we stayed in the nicest hotel I knew of in the area and it was disappointing.
