Worry, worry and more puppy worry

Hugo update. There was a freak accident between he and Betty, our cat, on Sunday. They got into a tiff and she scratched his eye.

Actually, we weren't sure at first whether or not she scratched the eye. But decided it was better to take him to the ER vet. Sure enough, she did. He was given two types of eye gel and an antibiotic. He was on that all day, but today it seemed like he wasn't getting any better. The eye looked worse.

So we took him back in to the vet and it looks like it was worse than they first thought. It's now infected, so our poor little guy is going to have to have eye surgery tomorrow AM. The good news is this will allow it to heal better. Also, there is no retinal damage, so his vision won't be affected in the long run.

I just now realized that I'm leaving for the UK in 3 weeks. Holy crap! Can't wait.

Finished Everthing is Illuminated last week. What a great book. I'll write more about it later. It's been a while since I read anything about the holocaust. I read a lot of holocaust books as a teenager. The story is beautiful and harrowing. And told in such a unique and lovely way. I couldn't put it down.

Got a call from my lovely friend K today. I hadn't talked to her in ages. I told her I was preggers and got her up to speed with Hugo. She's going to be in town next week and so we're doing dinner at Katsu...wonderful Chicago sushi joint. No problem with no raw fish for me, I crave their veggie rolls. And their beef wrapped in asparagus appetizer.

Went to Jin Ju last weekend w/ T, C and S. S is also pregnant (7 months so!) and our waiter informed us we needed to order "The Preggers" cocktail...cranberry, some Korean combo of multiple orange juices which I can't remember the name of and a squirt of seltzer. Amazing! Jun Ju??? AMAZING! I wanted to inhale everythign on the menu. And I'm not a huge fan or Korean, but it was amazing.

Yeah, you can tell I'm pregnant from the past two paragraphs. Food fixation anyone?
